The better the definition and quality of the photo, the better your drawing will look, so this phase is the most important. And I’m here to help you: select one or more photos (with good light and good definition, if they’re close to the person the better), tell me the size you’d like, and I’ll advise you so we can come up with the best possible option before you place your order.
Once we’ve defined your photo, all that’s left to do is find out the maximum delivery date and choose if you want any details (phrases, gold watercolor in the background or details, frame or any other special request). Again, I’m always happy to answer any questions you may have.
Payment can be made in full or in two parts: first a 50% advance to confirm your order, and the rest is only paid once you’ve seen the finished work and everything is in order. Then it will go to its new home.
Depending on the time of year and your deadline, your project could take anywhere from 1 week to (at most) 3 months. Everything will be defined and communicated to you before you finalize your order so that you can be sure of all the deadlines. Designs are made on a first-come, first-served basis, which is why there can be such a wide variation in deadlines, but it’s nothing to worry about (even if you have a 1-week deadline, contact me!). As soon as your order is placed, I’ll send you this information and you can choose whether you want to receive updates during the design or only at the beginning and end when the design is ready (for those who like nice surprises).
Tcharaaan! It’s ready! Once you’ve seen the final design, we’ll adjust anything that needs to be perfect, you’ll transfer the remaining 50% (if you’ve chosen partial payment), and I’ll lovingly pack up your work. It comes in a box adapted to your design, with a certificate of authenticity, instructions to give it more longevity and a gift to thank you for your support. Orders are always sent by CTT with Registration, so you can track the transportation: if your order includes a frame, it will be sent by Express Delivery with an additional Fragile service (delivery times vary depending on your address).
Shall we get started?
Of course, I love being part of the choice! I’d say the success of the design depends about 80% on the quality of the photo, so choosing the photo is undoubtedly the most important stage in giving you the best possible work.
Here are some tips:
You can always talk to me and send me your idea before placing the order, along with your selection of photos to help you choose the one that will give the most perfect design.
Sometimes we only have old or poor quality photos of the people we love, but we still want to recover them and make them everlasting. And I’m here for that too! It takes longer, but by using references from other photos and my own tool for recovering old photos, I can restore details that have been erased by time and recreate the people you love the most in a drawing that will always remain in your heart. This time, I turn it into art.
Yes, I can! I’ve had the honor of shedding many tears of joy by bringing together people who could never be together but who come together in my art. Before confirming your order, you can ask for a montage of how all the elements will look together, so you can better visualize the final result. One thing you can be sure of: grab your tissues, because I’m going to make this dream come true.
The sky’s the limit!
All the works you see here on the page were created by me, with great care, and made 100% by hand. There may be very specific details in the backgrounds done in Illustrator, such as the gold details in the Golden Collection, but everything else is done by my hands directly for you, whether with graphite pencil, watercolor, oil or acrylic.
As I always have a waiting list, the timeframe will depend on the amount of work I’m doing at the moment. It can range from 1 week to 3 months, especially around Christmas and Valentine’s Day (I wish I could reach more people, but I’m only one and the jobs are never rushed – so I can do my best with each one). You’ll receive an update when your order starts.
If you want to place an order within an urgent timeframe, contact me anyway and I’ll see if it’s possible to get your work done by that date. If that’s not possible, you always have the Gift Cards so that the person can choose the photo they’d most like to see drawn, I’m sure they’ll like it!
I usually place orders in the standard sizes, be it A5 (14.8x21cm), A4 (21×29.7cm), A3 (29.7x42cm), A2 (42×59.4cm) or even A1 (59.4×84.1cm). If you have a different size in mind, it’s something I can do depending on the project you have in mind. Just send me an email with your idea and we’ll make it happen.
I usually use two types of paper, both with neutral acid (which prevents the design from discoloring over time), made in France and FSC certified:
If you add the extra option of including a frame with the design, you’ll have a choice of colors and when it arrives home it will be ready for you to enjoy. Even if you don’t want to add the frame when you place your order, you can rest assured that it will arrive perfectly. I always suggest putting it in a frame to give it longevity and pass it down from generation to generation.
Your personalized design is carefully packaged in a box adapted to its shape, along with its certificate of authenticity, care instructions and a few surprises. It then goes by Registered Mail (so you can track the shipment and not get lost) and, if it has a frame included, it will go by Express Delivery with an additional Fragile service, for mega extra care. Once shipped, it takes from 1 working day for mainland shipments (for the islands at least 2 weeks) and always includes insurance so it’s protected against any faults during transportation, so you don’t have to worry about anything.
Of course! I’ve already sent some of my work all over Europe, to Brazil and to the USA, and it would be a real pleasure to have my work travel to you, wherever you are.
